Jackpotjoy TV advert banned by ASA

Everyone has surely seen the latest big TV advertising campaign from Jackpotjoy featuring Barbara Windsor as the ‘Queen of Bingo’. There has now been a series of different adverts produced featuring different offers and games.

The noises coming out of JPJ suggest that the campaign is producing good results. However, they honeymoon is now over as one of the latest adverts has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The ASA rules over all advertising medium in the UK, and must authorise all TV adverts before they make our screens.

The ad is question featured the ‘Star of Joy’, which was a bonus system which gave players the chance to win up to £10,000. All new players received a spin and there was a guaranteed prize on each spin.

The complaint made by players to ASA stated that the advert implied all new players would receive a cash prize, when it was in fact a free gift. In addition there was no clear statement that players needed to make a deposit before claiming the free spin.

The Star of Joy was removed not long after launch, details of why remain unclear, but it doesn’t look like coming back any time soon!

A Hot Cup of Tea and BINGO!

While there are so many bingo halls around the UK, sometimes we just want to relax at home after a grueling day at the office. All we want is a quick cup of tea and a nice relaxing game of bingo (a site called Tea and Bingo even named themselves accordingly!). Chances are, some of the same friends you play bingo with at your favourite bingo halls might be online at the same time trying their hand at that coveted jackpot.

Actually, a good percentage of bingo halls have now set up online games as well. Some of the largest bingo halls would include Gala Bingo that has over 180 locations scattered about the UK, Mecca Bingo with at least 124, Carlton Bingo with about 19 bingo halls and Top Ten Bingo and Cascade Bingo Halls that have about a dozen locations. But, those bingo halls may also have online games for ‘in between times’ when all you want is a nice hot cup of tea and a quick game of bingo!

Bingo halls are great when you want a bit of socialising and a night away from the drudgery of everyday life. Meet up with some friends, have a laugh or two, share some gossip, and of course, play BINGO. It just depends on your mood. Sometimes you feel like getting out and about, and other times you just want to stay in where it’s nice and warm and cozy. Either way, bingo halls or online bingo, you can still play the game, chat with your friends and maybe win the prize of your dreams.

Destination – Bingo!

One of the great things about playing bingo in the UK is that many of our favourite bingo halls have locations throughout the entire land! Whether you are in the North of Scotland, or the South of Wales, there is always a great bingo hall, actually a great number of bingo halls, where you can enjoy your favourite game at a hall that will feel familiar to you.

The friends may be different and the caller may sound a bit odd, but the game will be the same, the rules of the bingo halls will be the same and you will feel like you are right at home. If you don’t know where to play, just hail a taxi and tell the driver, “Destination – BINGO!” He’ll get you there in no time flat.

If you would rather take the tube, just get on and ask anyone around you and you can be sure they’ll get you to the nearest bingo hall. (That might be just a ‘bit’ extreme, but bingo is quickly becoming the number one pass time, so someone will surely know!) Bingo halls are everywhere, some open every day of the week all year long. Just look in a local phone directory, or pull out your handy laptop or netbook and you can go online to find the nearest location.

Chances are, you’ll find the same bingo halls you frequent at home, and if by chance there isn’t a hall nearby, while you have the laptop on, just stay there and play bingo online!

How to Find Bingo Halls in the UK

Sometimes we feel like a quick game of bingo and don’t really feel like going to our usual bingo hall because we might get caught up chatting with friends and spending more time than we had planned. While a good game of bingo is always just what the doctor ordered, it doesn’t mean we want to spend hours at the hall. Or, maybe when out of town on a business trip we have a few hours to ourselves and what’s nicer than a lovely game (or two, or three!) of bingo!

The best way to find bingo halls in the UK is to actually search for them online. Some sites list literally every single bingo hall in the UK, and provide information on websites if those halls have them. You can find bingo halls in Wales, Scotland, England and Ireland. Some are open every day, and some have certain days of the week that they are open to play. It’s just a matter of doing a quick online search, getting the address and phone number, and you’re off to a great evening of fun.

Finding bingo halls is the easy part; tearing yourself away once you get there is a little trickier! Although we all just want a quick game or two, once the caller starts calling those balls, you’re in for the long haul, and hopefully the jackpot! Everywhere you go throughout the UK, there is sure to be a bingo hall that has the prizes you are looking for and at least one day a week where you can enjoy your favourite pastime – BINGO!

Play Bingo by Land, Sea or Air?

Of course everyone knows that there are bingo halls scattered about the UK in every nook and cranny, and that you can take a 7 day cruise and play bingo aboard the ship, but play bingo by air? Well, almost! Play bingo by cyberspace! Some of your favourite bingo halls now have online bingo that you can play in between your night out at the halls.

Some bingo halls have as many (or more than!) as 180 land based bingo locations as well as online bingo. Gala Bingo, for instance, has at least that many and a hall finder on the home page of their website where you can find the location nearest you. Play bingo online, play bingo when spending a weekend in the countryside, or play bingo at home in Liverpool. Gala Bingo Halls are there, wherever you are.

And when you’re home with the flu and it is 4°C outside, you don’t need to worry that you are missing your weekly gaming night. Play bingo online, stay loyal to your bingo hall, and who knows – maybe being under the weather will win that jackpot for you! Sit back with a nice hot toddy, some comfy slippers and a nice plush robe and join the online action.

Because there are literally thousands of bingo halls all over the UK and online bingo 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, there is no reason to miss a single night. Play bingo as often as you want or as infrequently as you want because bingo is always there.
